Enhancing capacity for domestic training institutions

The ST4SD project contributes to developing local human resources through the support of capacity enhancement for Vietnamese institutes by building and transferring the Swiss Executive Hospitality Training (Swiss EHT) program with cooperation of the Swiss EHL Hospitality Business School – the best hospitality management school in the world. As a result, the private sector and organizations of Vietnam play a leading role in enhancing training quality and aiming for commercializing the EHT-based training programs.

Expected outcomes

Swiss Executive Hospitality Training Program

Develop and implement the Swiss Executive Hospitality Training (Swiss EHT) through the collaboration among selected Vietnamese institutes and EHL Hospitality Business School to improve human resource capacities for Vietnam’s tourism industry.

Enhance The Quality Of Human Resources

The ST4SD project connects and supports the sustainable cooperation process between selected educational institutions in Vietnam and the EHL Hospitality Business School to develop the Swiss Executive Hospitality Training (Swiss EHT) program. The program is designed for mid-level and senior management in Vietnam, with an international focus, based on meeting the practical demands of enhancing the quality of the domestic workforce.

Standardized Model of Swiss Eht Program Structure

In the pilot phase, the project has selected 4 domestic training institutions to collaborate with the EHL Hospitality Business School to participate in the development and advancement of the Swiss Executive Hospitality Training (Swiss EHT) program. These institutes are the National Economics University (a public university), IBH Academy (a vocational school owned by a company), Van Lang University (a private university), and Saigon Tourism College (a public vocational training school). These institutes have different training models and are located in various regions across the country.

Representatives from the 4 training institutes practice skill exercises according to standards with guidance from EHL experts. They will then receive certification from EHL and become master instructors of the Swiss Executive Hospitality Training (Swiss EHT) program in Vietnam.

Program Highlights

The Swiss EHT program, developed by EHL Hospitality Business School—the world’s top-ranked hospitality school with a 130-year legacy—combines Swiss precision with global adaptability. It focuses on applying theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios, preparing hospitality professionals to meet the demands of the industry.

The comprehensive curriculum focuses on essential skills such as financial management, risk management, service excellence, and effective communication, both verbal and non-verbal, including active listening. It is tailored to meet local needs while maintaining global standards, ensuring students are well-equipped to succeed in the international hospitality industry.

Graduates gain access to Swiss EHT alumni network, which includes leaders from major hospitality brands as well as local hospitality professionals. This network offers valuable opportunities to connect with peers, mentors, and industry leaders, providing essential connections and support throughout their careers in the hospitality ecosystem.

The program offers affordable pricing, made possible by funding from the Swiss government. Additionally, Vietnamese professionals can access financial support to enhance their skill development, making this opportunity both accessible and valuable for those looking to advance in the hospitality industry. The program features a flexible and practical design, with 70-80% of the learning conducted online and 20-30% focused on in-person sessions for networking and hands-on case studies. It is structured around short learning cycles, with each level (Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced) lasting just one month. This design is tailored specifically for working professionals with limited time, allowing them to balance their studies with their career commitments.
