The content was specifically crafted to reflect the needs of H\u00e0 Giang province and align with national and international sustainability goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The curriculum focused on four key areas of knowledge:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Fundamental knowledge of sustainable tourism and sustainable tourism development<\/strong>:<br>Participants gained a strong understanding of core concepts and frameworks, including the definitions of sustainability, the Triple Bottom Line approach (economy\u2013society\u2013environment), and the VICE model (Visitors\u2013Industry\u2013Community\u2013Environment).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sustainable community-based tourism (CBT)<\/strong> \u2013 a strategic priority for H\u00e0 Giang:<br>The course explored what makes CBT successful and sustainable in remote areas, emphasizing local ownership, cultural preservation, environmental protection, and fair benefit-sharing mechanisms. Particular attention was paid to identifying and addressing the \u201c5 available\u201d, \u201c5 missing\u201d, and \u201c5 conflicts\u201d commonly found in CBT development in ethnic minority communities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>International and Swiss experiences and models in sustainable tourism development<\/strong>:<br>Drawing on case studies from Switzerland and other countries, participants learned about best practices in visitor management, eco-certification, capacity building, and market positioning. Many expressed hope that the lessons learned would not only stay with them but also ripple out through their communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several participants proposed concrete follow-up actions, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Creating cultural visitor codes for their villages.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developing community-led weekend tourism events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Partnering more effectively with travel agents and NGOs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These initiatives signal a readiness to put theory into practice and to lead tourism development from the ground up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking ahead, participants voiced a collective desire to see similar training programs expanded to other provinces in the northern mountainous region.
