On April 3, 2025, the Swiss Tourism for Sustainable Development Project in Vietnam (ST4SD) successfully hosted an online meeting to kick off the establishment of the Tourism Experts Network. The event brought together top-tier experts in the tourism sector, who bring a wealth of expertise spanning human resource development in tourism and hospitality, as well as sustainable tourism. These professionals hold significant roles in various enterprises and serve as educators at training institutions both in Vietnam and internationally.
During the meeting, two key representatives from the project – Mr. Adrien Rebord, Senior Advisor for Vocational Skills Development at Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation, and Ms. Dang Phuong Anh, Manager of the Human Resource Quality Enhancement Component – shared the results of a survey on the expectations of potential network members. They also presented an overarching development framework to guide the network’s formation and ensure its effective operation in the long term.
Leading industry experts provided valuable input, drawing on their deep expertise and extensive practical experience, to lay a strong foundation for the sustainable growth of the Tourism Experts Network model. This model, which is already widely implemented in Switzerland and other European countries, has proven instrumental in driving the sustainable development of the tourism and hospitality industries.
The Swiss Tourism for Sustainable Development Project in Vietnam (ST4SD), funded by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland (SECO), aims to foster a more sustainable and holistic development of Vietnam’s tourism sector. The project is jointly implemented by Helvetas Vietnam and CRED Co., Ltd. (Consultancy on Tourism & Agricultural Solutions) in the provinces of Ha Giang, Quang Nam, and Dong Thap from 2024 to 2027. The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, appointed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, serves as the project’s national coordinator in Vietnam.
