POLICY IMPLEMENTATION
Support the implementation of policies on sustainable tourism
The ST4SD project supports the implementation of national and subnational action plans, master plans, policies, and decisions to boost sustainable tourism development.
Experts from the Lucerne University of Applied Science and Arts (HSLU Hochschule Luzern) have provided consulting and technical support to share experiences in sustainable tourism development in Switzerland and replications for Vietnam.
Expected outcomes
Strengthen the Public-private policy dialogue (PPD) at both national and subnational levels
The project reinforces operations and capacities of national and subnational public-private policy dialogue mechanisms, actively influencing agenda, supporting discussion, contributing expertise through the network of international/ Swiss experts and facilitating the development and implementation of sustainable tourism plans on national and sub-national level.
promote and support implementation of sustainable tourism promotion ideas
The project supports national and provincial tourism agencies as well as private institutions to seek and implement innovative and creative ideas including digital/ online instruments for sustainable tourism promotion focusing on environmental, social, and cultural values.
Launch the Vietnam Tourism Development Index (VTDI)
The project will sign the contract with legal partners and collaborate with them to implement the VTDI research and indicator setting, survey data collection and also organize a dissemination fora.
VTDI is expected to be used as a tool to strengthen the competitiveness of the tourism sector in accordance with international standards.
