The Swiss Tourism for Sustainable Development (ST4SD) project, funded by SECO and implemented by HELVETAS Vietnam in partnership with CRED, is expanding its community-based tourism pilot in Khun Village (Bang Lang Commune, Quang Binh District, Ha Giang). To help local residents welcome an increasing number of international visitors, we are recruiting a Volunteer English Trainer to deliver basic, hands-on language lessons to homestay owners, local guides, and service staff.
What you will do
- Live and teach in Khun Village for 1–3 months (exact dates flexible).
- Run 2-hour English classes, five days a week, using creative, practical methods (games, role-play, field practice).
- Produce a simple “Basic English for Community Tourism” guide and support occasional translation needs for visiting consultants.
What we are looking for
- Strong spoken English; education, tourism, or TESOL background preferred.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a commitment to positive social impact.
- Willingness to live in a remote ethnic-minority village for at least one month. Teaching experience with adult beginners is an advantage.
What we offer
- Free accommodation and meals at a local homestay.
- Transport support within Vietnam and a modest living allowance.
- Certificate of participation, cultural immersion, and the chance to contribute directly to sustainable, inclusive tourism.
